Are you a Youth Lacrosse Player? You’re at the right place! I am Jordy B. and I will walk you through these drills that you can easily do in your backyard. Here is what you will need to get started:
Equipment Needed:
- Stick
- Balls
- Goal
- Bounceback, Wall or a Person
Here is what we will cover in the video below:
- Passing
- Remember to step with your opposite foot.
- Get your elbows off your body.
- Follow through.
- Pass – Catch – Shoot
- Keep your feet moving.
- Run through the ball.
- Run – Scoop – Shoot
- Keep hand higher on your stick.
- Run through ground ball.
- Get LOW!!
- 3 Cones Dodge
- Space cones 5 large steps apart.
- Run at a good speed.
- Change hands as you dodge.
- Scoop – Dodge
- Run through
- Get LOW
- Scoop
- Split Dodge
- Shoot
If you are just starting out, don’t worry! Practice this drill a few times per week and it will get easier each time you do it. The key is to be consist, have fun, and try different things!

By tracking your training, it will help you to stay focused, learn how to set goals for yourself, increase discipline and ultimately help you be an all around better lacrosse player. Don’t be afraid to reward yourself for your dedication and performance! Small rewards help keep me motivated. Talk to your Parents about what may be a good goal to set for yourself.
